Tina was born on December 13th, in Yonkers, New York, to James and Rosemary DeStaso. From an early age, she felt a deep calling to help others, a purpose that guided her life’s work. She pursued her education at Fairleigh Dickinson University, where she studied social work and formed lifelong friendships that remained a source of love and support throughout her life.
Following graduation, Tina began a distinguished career with the New Jersey Department of Child Protection and Permanency for 36 years. She served with unwavering compassion, dedication, and integrity, touching countless lives through her tireless advocacy for children and families in need.
On April 27, 2000, Tina married the love of her life, Kenneth Lowry. With an open heart, she welcomed Ken’s son, Christopher Lowry, into her life and family. Together, Tina and Ken were blessed with their son, Alexander Lowry, born in August 2001. The family made their home in Hillsdale, New Jersey, where Tina and Ken built a life rooted in love, faith, and devotion to their children and grandchildren.
Tina was truly the glue that held her family together. She was endlessly caring, wise, supportive, and selfless—always placing the needs of others before her own. Her faith in God guided her daily life and gave her strength, grace, and peace. She found her greatest joy in spending time with family and friends, traveling, creating memories on family vacations, and lovingly caring for those closest to her. Words cannot fully capture the depth of her impact or the beauty of her spirit, but her legacy lives on in the many lives she touched.
Tina is survived by her devoted husband, Kenneth Lowry; her children, Alexander Lowry and Christopher Lowry (Brittany); her treasured grandchildren, Chase and Brady; her loving mother, Rosemary DeStaso; her siblings, Theresa Perrin (Robert), James DeStaso III (Donna), Nicholas DeStaso, Regina Spilotras (Robert), and Margie Fazulak (David); and her many beloved nieces and nephews: James (Denise), Tiffany (Anthony), James, Anthony, Isabella, Nicole, Juliana, Robert, Madison, Luke, Sofia, Johnny, and Joseph.
