Mr. Vincent R. McCarthy

McCARTHY, Vincent R., 81, of Hillsdale, NJ, passed away on Tuesday, September 18, 2012. He was born in Pearl River, NY to Henry and Mary McCarthy. Beloved husband of Lillian McCarthy (nee Blinn) for 60 years. Devoted father of Patricia Gyory and her husband Brian, Vincent McCarthy and his wife Anne, and Kevin McCarthy and his wife Lesli. Dear brother of George McCarthy. Loving grandfather of Erin Andersen, Jaclyn MacIaasac and the late Ryan. Cherished great grandfather of Benton Andersen. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Before retiring, he was a member of the Hillsdale Police Department where he served as Detective Lieutenant. He was a graduate of the F.B.I. Academy in Quantico, VA. He was a Navy Veteran of the Korean War aboard the USS Coral Sea. He was a member of the Hillsdale Volunteer Fire Dept., Hillsdale Volunteer Ambulance Corps and American Legion Post #162, Hillsdale, NJ. The family will receive their relatives and friends at Becker Funeral Home, 219 Kinderkamack Road, Westwood, NJ on Thursday (TODAY), 2-5 and 7-9PM. The Funeral Mass will be held at St. John the Baptist R.C. Church, Hillsdale, NJ on Friday at 10:30AM.
