Ginny grew up in Cliffside Park, NJ, and married her high school sweetheart, Carmine. The couple later settled in Teaneck, NJ, where they started a family with the birth of their son, Steven.
In recent months, her loved ones were grateful to spend meaningful time with her. Her son, Steven, was especially thankful to be by her side in her final moments.
Although Ginny had lived with epilepsy since childhood, she never let her condition define or limit her. She dedicated over 15 years of her life as a teacher's aide at Lowell School in Teaneck, NJ, where she made a lasting impact on students and staff alike.
Ginny was many things to many people. She was a devoted and loving wife to her husband, Carmine, and a loyal friend with a heart of gold. Known for her strength, pride, and candor, she was never afraid to speak her mind. Above all, she loved her life and the people in it.
A constant presence for her family, Ginny gave of herself generously to others. She also had a deep love for animals---especially cats---and over the years, she and Carmine shared their home with several cherished pets: Dreamer, Lance, Moxie, and Oliver.
Ginny touched countless lives with her warmth, honesty, and spirit. She will be deeply missed. May she rest in peace and watch over her loved ones from heaven, reunited with Nanny, Pop, Frankie, Uncle Mickey, and Cousin Christopher.
She is survived by her loving husband, Carmine; her son, Steven; her daughter-in-law, Tina; her siblings, Fran and her husband, Bob Desort; Rita and her husband, Lou Arena; and John and his wife, Ann DeMercurio. She is also survived by in-laws Mary Jo and Ralph Gatto, Mike and Nan Gagliostro, Terry and Jeff Rose, Frances Gagliostro, Raili and Karen Rudowski, and Christa and Josh Muscatine; as well as her nieces and nephews---Lisa, Scot, Ben, Greg, Danielle, Damon, Dustin, Michelle, Shannon, Kevin, Scott, Becky, and Dylan---their children, and many other relatives and friends.
With love, Carmine, Steven and Tina, "143"
A memorial and celebration of Ginny's life will be held on Saturday, August 30, 2025 from 12:00 to 4:00 pm at Becker Funeral Home, 219 Kinderkamack Road Westwood, NJ 07675.
