Walter William Scherf

He was born in Bronx, NY on April 4, 1936 to his parents Willy and Dora Scherf. On April 4, 1964 Walter married Patricia Sporn at St. Barnabas Church, Bronx, NY.

He served his country proudly in the US Army Reserves from 1954-1962. Before retiring, he was a draftsman and owner of W S Store Interiors, Inc., Orangeburg, NY.

Walter enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was an avid golfer and bowler and was a longtime member of the Bergenfield Rod and Gun Club, Deposit, NY.

Walter is predeceased by his wife Pat. He is survived by his children William (Kathleen) Scherf, Robert (Cynthia) Scherf and John Scherf; grandchildren Jennifer (Ryan) Klafehn, Kathryn (Robert) Armstrong, Matthew (Nicole) Scherf, Andrew and Caroline Scherf, Nicole DeMartine, Daniel Scherf and great-grandchildren Eden Klafehn, Colton and Hailey Armstrong, and Madelyn Scherf. Additionally Walter is survived by his sister Anita Green and his sibling-in-law Christine (William) O’Neill, John (Susan) Rosco, Jerry Rosco. He is predeceased by his brother-in-law Michael Sporn and daughter-in-law Kimberly Scherf.
