William J. O’Brien (March 28, 1933 - November 15, 2019) passed away in his home Friday afternoon surrounded by loved ones. The 86 year-old was born in Jersey City to Mary and William O’Brien Sr, where he was educated at St. Peters Prep before going on to Fordham University. He proudly served his country as part of the U.S. Army, while stationed in Germany, then returned home to become an Insurance Executive where he would rise to President of Eastcliff Associates. During his over 50 years as a resident of Woodcliff Lake, Bill maintained his love of the New York Giants and Mets while playing tennis regularly. As an avid fan of news, sports and politics, Bill would start his weekdays by reading the daily paper while listening to Don Imus and often finished his nights listening to his son-in-law Scott Ferrall. The family man, and lover of dogs, is predeceased by his first wife Ann and his sister Elaine Bozarth. He will be dearly missed by his wife Kathy and his children, Colleen & Tim Ennis, Bill O’Brien, Richard O’Brien, Michele Rusciano & Chris Pastorino and Stephanie & Scott Ferrall. As well as by his grandchildren Kristen & Megan Ennis and Gunner & McKenna Ferrall. A viewing will be held on Monday, November 18th at Becker Funeral Home, 219 Kinderkamack Road, Westwood from 4-8 pm. A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, November 19th at Our Lady Mother of the Church in Woodcliff Lake at 10:00am. Entombment will follow in Garden of Memories.
