

Born in Manhattan, NYC to Josephine (nee Kitt) & William Anthony Raymond. Survived by his loving wife, Barbara (nee Barteld) Raymond, and son Scott David Raymond & his wife Mary of Hillsdale, NJ; son Todd William Raymond & his wife Doreen of Hillsdale, NJ; his daughter Theresa (Terri) Lee Raymond of Hoboken, NJ; his grandchildren Jessica, Scotty, Marisa, Billy, Tyler & Nicole as well as his brother Kevin Raymond of FL. He was preceded by his brother Robert Raymond of Chester, NY.
He attended Manhattan Prep High School & Manhattan College. He was a successful chemical engineer & focused much of his later career in the oil business. He started his career with Herculus Powder working on the minuteman missile. He then worked for MW Kellogg Construction company, Lummus, Lurgi Corporation, & retired from ABB.
He traveled the world working on oil technology & designing oil refineries & platforms. He was a member of the member of AIChE. After retirement, he worked with his sons’ company, Raymond Brothers Landscaping as a project manager.
His immense enthusiasm for aviation started with his early business travel on commercial airlines in 1962. He visited many countries for work & traveled with his family for pleasure. His passion for aviation continued as he loved tracking flight plans for his family.
He served as a member on the Board of Directors for Pascack Valley Hospital in Westwood, NJ for a number of years. His philanthropy included Covenant House, Catholic charities & his alma mater, Manhattan College.
He was passionate about his family & he loved making celebrations out of everyday events & holidays. His devotion to his dogs persisted with his monthly celebration of life for them. He had a passion for golf & sports especially Arnold Palmer & his beloved Manhattan Jaspers & Indiana Fever basketball teams. He was a member of St John R.C. Parish in Hillsdale, NJ & Our Lady Star of the Sea R.C. in New Smyrna Beach, FL.
He will be remembered by all for his kindness, love, support & caring for his family including his wife, children, grandchildren & pets. All who knew him recognized his generosity & unconditional love for all. The family would like to thank all of our family & friends from NJ, FL & all over the country for your continued love, support & prayers.
The family will receive guests at Becker Funeral Home, 219 Kinderkamack Rd., Westwood, NJ, on Thursday, September 12th from 5-9PM. A Mass celebrating William's life and faith will be held at St. John the Baptist R.C. Church in Hillsdale, NJ on Friday, September 13th at 10:30AM with interment at Ascension Cemetery in Airmont, NY to follow.
