Alice Holland Jones (Holland)

Alice Pardee (Holland) Jones, 88, of Bloomfield, wife of the late Robert Jones, died on Sunday (January 23, 2011) in Hartford. Born in Chestnut Hill, PA, daughter of the late Harry A. and Alice Pardee (Earle) Holland, she graduated from the Springside School in the Philadelphia area and attended Smith College in Northampton, MA. Alice lived in West Hartford for more than 30 years and was a member of the Altar Guild at St. John’s Episcopal Church in West Hartford, a member the Hartford Golf Club and enjoyed playing bridge, tennis and golf. Alice is survived by two children; a son, Robert Craighill Jones of Middletown and a daughter, Alice Pardee Jones of West Hartford. She was predeceased by two brothers, Harry Holland and Edgar “Teddy” Holland. A memorial service will be held Friday (February 4, 2011) at 3:00 p.m. at the Meeting Room at Duncaster, 40 Loeffler Road, Bloomfield, CT 06002. Burial will be private. There are no calling hours. Alice’s family would like to thank the staff of Caleb Hitchcock for the care and compassion Alice received during her stay there.
