Angelina Sardo

Angelina (Brescia) Sardo, 82, of Newington, widow of Vincent Sardo, passed away on Tuesday (July 25, 2006). She was born in Hartford, daughter of the late Antonio and Maria (Miraglia) Brescia and had lived in the area all of her life. She was a seamtress, retiring from Sage-Allen & Company after many years of employment. She volunteered her time working the polls during election time and she also worked for the Newington School Lunch Program for years. She was a member of the Senior Group of the Knights of Columbus. She leaves her loving family, a son and daughter-in-law, Francesco and Jill Sardo of New Haven; a daughter and son-in-law, Diane and Kent Carlson of Newington; a brother, Michael Brescia of Hartford; a sister and brother-in-law, Marion and Angelo Occhineri of West Hartford; and four grandchildren, Angela, Teresa and Anthony Carlson, and Caterina Sardo; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Francesco Brescia and a niece, Diane Occhineri. Funeral services will be Friday, July 28, at 9 a.m. from the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield, with a Mass of Christian Burial 10 a.m. in Holy Spirit Church, Newington.
