Angelina C. Tancredi

Angelina C. (Lanza) Tancredi, 89, formerly of Wethersfield and Hartford, beloved wife of the late Joseph I. Tancredi, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 14, 2019. Born in Hartford on August 30, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Antonio and Caroline (Preti) Lanza. She and her siblings were brought up in the Italian neighborhood on Front Street. She raised her family in Hartford’s South End and Elmwood, and later lived independently for 35 years in Wethersfield. Angelina was extremely proud of her Italian heritage. She excelled as an Italian cook, quilter and dedicated mother. Her family was the center of her life and she was happiest when she was surrounded by her loved ones. A loving mother and grandmother, Angelina will forever be missed by her two sons, James Tancredi and wife Susan and Michael Tancredi and wife Peg and her six adored grandchildren, Lauren Tancredi, Jamie Tancredi, Sean Tancredi, Brian and wife Kristin Tancredi, Marc and wife Danielle Tancredi, and Megan Tancredi. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and extended family members. She was predeceased by all eight of her siblings. The Tancredi family is immeasurably grateful for the loving companionship and attention that Angelina received at her home from caregivers Joanne Abate and Leigh Cyr of Newington, and later from the professional staff at Atria-The Landing in Farmington and Avon Health Center in Avon.

Calling hours will be Wednesday (July 24) from 10 a.m.-12 noon concluding with a memorial service at 12 noon at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield. A luncheon reception nearby will follow for family and friends. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
