

Angelo Salvatore Barresi, 85, of East Hartford, beloved husband for 58 years of Lucia (Ficara) Barresi, passed away peacefully at home with his devoted wife by his side on Sunday, February 9, 2025. Born in Hartford on June 20, 1939, he was the son of the late Francis and Angelica (Schiavone) Barresi. Angelo served proudly in the U.S. Army. He went to trade school and started his career at United Tool & Die, eventually moving on to Northeast Utilities/Eversource, where he worked until his retirement. He enjoyed walking for miles and doing yardwork. He loved animals and was happiest when he was with his family, especially the time he got to spend with his grandsons.
A loving husband, father and grandfather, Angelo will be forever missed by his loving wife Lucia; two sons, Daniel Barresi and wife Carmela of East Hartford and Robert Barresi and wife Kimberly of Newington and his two adored grandsons, Robert Barresi, Jr. and Andrew Barresi and their partners, Erika and Amanda. He is also survived by his brother, Albert Barresi; his sister, Frances Groder; his mother-in-law, Santa Ficara; his brother-in-law, Salvatore Ficara and partner Josephine Barresi, as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. He was predeceased by his brother, Joseph Barresi.
Funeral services will begin on Monday, February 17 at 9 a.m. at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Boulevard, Wethersfield followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at the Church of the Incarnation of Christ the King Parish, 544 Prospect Street, Wethersfield. Burial with military honors will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford. Family and friends may call on Sunday from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral chapel.
