Angelo Cosimo Lacirignola, 81, of Wethersfield and Hartford, passed away peacefully surrounded by his children after a brief illness on Sunday June 7, 2020 at Hartford Hospital. Angelo took his last breath as his favorite tune played softly in the background, “Don’t Worry Be Happy” by Bobbie McFerrin. Angelo affectionately known as “Nonno” was born September 27, 1938 in Fasano, Brindisi in Italy. Angelo came to Hartford from Italy in 1967 with his wife, Rosalia Lapone Lacirignola, to start a new life in Connecticut. After only 10 years of marriage the love of his life, Rosalia, was taken to heaven after a courageous battle with cancer. Angelo took over being both father and mother to his 3 young daughters ages 9, 7, and 3. Angelo later remarried and had a son who he also raised serving as father and mother as well. He was a great provider for his children and wanted only the best for them. He did all he could to make sure they had everything that was ever needed. Angelo was an electrician by trade. He worked for CT Spring and Stamping Corp for over 25 years and later for Ideal Rack until he retired at the age of 66. After retirement Angelo continued to do electrical jobs for so many of his friend and family. He was a hardworking and dedicated man not only to his employers but also to his friends and family. Angelo is survived by his children, Erminia Santana and Carlos of Hartford, Mirella Esposito and Thomas of East Hartford, Silvana Sibilio and Francesco of Fasano Italy; and Angelo Carlo Lacirignola and Elizabeth of Owasso, Oklahoma, his grandchildren, Coral and Giovanni Santana, Javier Rodriguez, Thomas Jr. and Sabrina Esposito, Stefano, Massimo and Andrea Sibilio, Mia and Emma Lacirignola; His great grandchildren Tianna Esposito and Lia Rose Rodriguez. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews here in Connecticut and in Italy as well as many close friends and colleagues. Angelo also leaves behind a special person in his life Patricia Amparo Borrero, the mother of his son. Angelo was predeceased by his wife, Rosalia Lapone Lacirignola, his oldest granddaughter, Rosalia Santana-Rodriguez, his mother Catalda, his Father Domenico, his brother Francesco, his sister Ada, and his nephew Massimo.
