

Born in Solarino, province of Siracusa, Sicily on January 1, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Salvatore and Paola (Vasquez) Calafiore. Anna came to the U.S. in 1956. She was the owner and operator of Anna’s Import and Gift Shop in Hartford for many years. Anna was full of life and loved to dance. Some of her grandchildren's fondest memories are of her showing off on the dance floor. Anna loved the thrill of the casino and held the belief that the next big win was right around the corner.
A loving mother and Nonna, Anna will be forever missed by her three sons, Santo Antonio Terranova and Salvatore Terranova, both of Hartford and Natale Terranova, Jr. and his wife Deborah of West Hartford and her five adored grandchildren, Katie Rose Savoia and her husband Jake. Amber Balise, Ashley DePaolis and her husband Daniel, Tyler Terranova and Michael Terranova and his fiancé Osvaldo Hernandez, as well as many family and friends. She was predeceased by her brothers, Salvatore and Santo. The family would like to thank the staff at St. Mary Home for the wonderful care given to Anna during her stay.
Calling hours will be Friday, July 10 from 9-10 a.m. at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Boulevard, Wethersfield followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church of Annunciation Parish, 626 Willard Avenue, Newington.
