Anthony "Tony" F. Brancato

Anthony Frank “Tony” Brancato, 95, of Rocky Hill and formerly of Hartford, beloved husband to Angeline (Calvo) Brancato, peacefully passed away on Thursday, July 1, 2021 at Bel Aire Manor, Newington. Tony was born May 26, 1926 and raised in Hartford, son to the late Salvatore and Mattia (InDomenico) Brancato. He began working at an early age, which led him to attend trade school, where he earned his certificate as a Master Electrician. Tony had a successful career with the MDC, beginning as a laborer and working his way to General Foreman during his 40+ years with the Commission. He was an avid golfer and NY Yankees fan. As a devoted family man, he cherished any time he could spend with his children, grandchildren and relatives.

Along with his wife Angeline, Tony will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by his loving family, two sons and daughters-in-law, Salvatore “Sal” and Laura Brancato of East Hartford, Anthony “ Tony” Jr. and Darline Brancato, of Enfield; two stepsons, Thomas DiScipio and wife Donna of Ellington and Stephen DiScipio and wife Nancy of Granby; eight adored grandchildren, David Brancato, Anthony Brancato and wife Annie, Julie Anderson and husband Jon, Thomas DiScipio and wife Victoria, Jayne Caron and husband Michael, Laura DiScipio, Jenna Tallis and husband Zackary, and Taylor DiScipio; ten great grandchildren, Aldo, Michael and Dorothea Brancato, Lucy, Ricky and Charlotte Anderson, Everett and Vivienne Caron, Mason Tallis and Ella DiScipio,. In addition, Tony is survived by a special cousin, Eileen Santiglia of Wethersfield, as well as numerous additional cousins and special friends. In addition to his parents, Tony was predeceased by his first wife Concetta.

The family will receive friends and relatives Wednesday July 7, 2021 from 5-7 p.m. at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd, Wethersfield. A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating Tony’s life will be held Thursday July 8, 2021 at 10 a.m. in the Church of the Incarnation, 544 Prospect St, Wethersfield. Attendees are asked to please go directly to the church. Interment will follow the Mass in the family plot in Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery (Section R), 1 Cottage Grove Rd., Bloomfield.
