Anthony “Tony” R. DiPaola, 82, of Wethersfield, beloved husband for 56 years of the late Sandra M. (Martocchio) DiPaola, died peacefully on Saturday January 19, 2019. Born in Hartford on August 16, 1936, he was the son of the late Antonio and Filomena (Vendetti) DiPaola. Tony received a BA from the University of Hartford and worked for many years as an Accountant and Programmer for Aetna Life and Casualty. He was a longtime faithful communicant of The Church of St. Andrew the Apostle in Rocky Hill and a member of the Aetna Men’s Club. A loving father and grandfather, Tony will be forever missed by his devoted daughter, Michelle Larkins and husband John of Shelton and his two adored grandchildren, Paden and Derek Larkins. He is also survived by two sisters, Anna Pollansky and Joyce Perkins, as well as several nieces and nephews. Tony was predeceased by his three sisters, Kathleen Bachand, Evelyn Hoglen and Maria Bell along with his three nephews. In addition, he was predeceased by his brother, Frank DiPaola who was declared MIA during World War II.
Tony’s family would like to acknowledge his niece, Paula Lako and her husband Alfonso Eizaguirre and his niece, Joyce Ann Chimbole for being an important part of Tony’s life; their kindness and companionship will forever be remembered.
Funeral services will be private and there are no calling hours. Burial in Cedar Hill Cemetery will be at the convenience of the family.
