

Anthony Michael Massaro, 23, of Wethersfield, beloved son of Marc and Linda (Derderian) Massaro of Wethersfield, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, September 5, 2018. Tony was born in Boston on June 10, 1995. He graduated from Wethersfield High School in 2013 and was a student at Quinnipiac University. Tony was a particularly gifted writer and enjoyed reading, music, politics, writing, philosophy, walking in the woods, family holiday meals and diverse foods, the hotter and spicier the better. He loved playing baseball when he was growing up and was an avid fan of the New York Yankees. He loved spending time with his grandparents in Cape Cod and Charlotte, NC. Tony will be remembered for his great sense of humor, strong will, sensitive nature, bright mind and for always following his own path. In addition to his loving parents, Tony will be forever missed by his brother, Nicolas Massaro of Wethersfield; paternal grandmother, Mary Ellen Massaro of Hartford; maternal grandparents, Stephen and Gisela Derderian of Charlotte, NC; two uncles, Jon Massaro and his wife Lucy of East Haddam and Michael Derderian and his wife Narine of Charlotte; three cousins with whom he was very close, Michael Massaro, Matthew Massaro and Andrew Derderian, as well as many other close relatives and friends throughout the US, Germany and Italy. He loved his special feline buddy, Sam the cat. He was predeceased by his beloved paternal grandfather, Jon F. Massaro, together now in heaven sharing eternal peace and happiness.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday (September 11) at 10 a.m. at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 875 Farmington Ave., West Hartford. Everyone is asked to please go directly to the church. Burial will follow in Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. Family and friends may call on Monday from 3-7 p.m. at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield.
