Ann was born on June 12 1920, in Hartford, CT to Rose and Rocco Urciuoli, along with her two younger brothers Ralph and Anthony
Ann worked at the Hartford Machine Screw Company (now known as Stanadyne) in the early 1940’s. Ann was one of the first women to work second shift, due to the fact that most of the men had left to service in the military. The women filled the gap in their absence. This is where she met her husband, Earl Bowen, who also left to serve in the military. Later on Ann worked for the Travelers Insurance Company. She was a member of the Traveler’s Girl Club. Ann retired from the Travelers in the 1980’s.
Ann was a devoted Nana to Jill, Bethany and Seth and would always cook for them and provide comfy beds for them on the floor, so that they could watch TV shows with her. She was also loving, kind and generous to her family. She always was so blessed to have 12 great grandchildren: Sophia, Nicolas, Elias, Luca, Cecelia, Silas, Kayla, Olivia, Adeline, Caiden, Austin and Paisley.
She was always in her kitchen cooking and singing to her favorite Italian vocalists and loved serving her family many dinners of meatballs, sausage, ziti, spinach pie and lot of desserts. She took many bus trips with the Enfield Seniors and her brother Tony and Sister in law Vinnie. She had so much energy and passion or life almost up to her very last year of life.
Ann is survived by her daughter Debbie and her husband Cliff. Her granddaughter Jill and her husband Mike, Her granddaughter Bethany and her husband Shawn and her grandson Seth and his wife Sara. She is also survived by her 12 grandchildren mentioned above, 6 nephews and their wives, and 3 nieces and their husbands. She has many great nieces and nephews and many great, great nieces and nephews. Her brothers and sister in law, passed before her. For the last three years, she received live in care from Barbara Biscette, who was an angel and servant from God. She was the most loving, dedicated, sacrificial person, I have ever personally met. She was with her when she took her last breathe.
Mom, Nana, Grand Nana, with be greatly missed, but never forgotten.
