

Antonino “Tony” Fierro, 86, of Hartford, passed away unexpectedly at home on Tuesday, December 5, 2017. Born in Benevento, Italy on May 15, 1931, he was the son of the late Mandato and Antoinetta (Pastizzo) Fierro. He served in the Italian Army and immigrated to the U.S. in 1961. Tony worked for Fierro Landscaping for his brother for many years. He loved spending time with his nieces and nephews, entertaining them with his jokes and stories of the past. In his younger years, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. Tony was a longtime member of the Canicattinese Society in Hartford and loved spending time with his fellow club members. A loving brother and uncle, he will be forever missed by his two brothers, Felice “Phil” and wife Beverly of Newington and Rinaldo “Reno” and wife Lorraine of East Hartford; his sister, Rosa Frusciante and husband Sabato of Rocky Hill and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Mariannina Rotundo and his nephew, Anthony J. Fierro. A special thanks to his friends at the Canicattinese Society for their companionship and making the club a second home for Tony.
Funeral services will be Saturday (December 9) at 10 a.m. at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford.
