Antonio DeCaro, 88 of Hartford, beloved husband of the late Antonietta (Cappuccio) DeCaro, passed away peacefully on September 4, 2021 at Hartford Hospital, surrounded by his family. Antonio was born on July 2, 1933 in Libya and was the son of the late Vincenzo and Lucia (Aglieco) DeCaro. At a young age he and his family made their home in Siracusa, Sicily. Antonio was the owner and operator of Lombardo Service Center. He worked countless hours to provide for his family and to ensure his work was done in a timely manner for his customers. He truly enjoyed being in the company of friends and meeting new people. Antonio loved fishing, and going to Disney, cooking but most of all, spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Antonio will be dearly missed by his daughter, Lucia DeCaro-Zito and his cherished grandchildren, Cassandra Antoinetta Zito, John Thomas Zito, IV and Kevin Lamont Chalk, Jr. He also leaves his niece Giovanna Bitonti-Cardoville of Siracusa Sicilia and nephews Vincent and Anthony DeCaro. In addition to his wife and parents, Antonio was predeceased by his brother Angelo DeCaro, and sister Graziella DeCaro Bitonti. The family would like to thank the nurses and doctors at Hartford Hospital for their care and compassion. Please accept my deepest sympathies with the passing of your father. I have so many heartfelt and wonderful memories of both your amazing Mom and your hardworking Dad. Those memories of having incredible dinners and spending countless summer hours together will live on. I can honestly say that you and your family were part of the joyous memories I will always cherish from my childhood.
