

Antonio “Anthony” A. Diana, Sr. 93, of Wethersfield, devoted husband of Marian (Rinaldo) Diana passed away peacefully on Friday, February 26, 2016, surrounded by his loving family at Hartford Hospital. Born July 21, 1922 in Manchester, son of the late Vincenzo and Emilia (Rotondaro) Diana, Anthony owned and operated a market on Franklin Ave. in Hartford, retired from Hamilton Standard, and was a longtime resident to Wethersfield where he was a parishioner of the Church of the Incarnation. Anthony was a member and officer of both The Luna Club and Wethersfield Senior Club, and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was also recently recognized as an honorary member of the St. Valentine Social Club. Above all, Anthony was passionately committed to his family. Anthony is survived by his daughter Emily and husband Fernando “Frank” Monaco of Wethersfield with whom he resided; his son Anthony Jr. and wife Ina (Bobrow) Diana of Mebane, NC; and his daughter-in-law Cathy (Kluntz) Diana of Rocky Hill; grandchildren Michael and Elizabeth (Skora) Diana, Nicholas Diana, Tina (Monaco) and Mark St. Pierre, Donato and Juliet (Ricciuti) Monaco, Justin and Melissa (Roberson) Diana, Katie (Diana) and Pernell Wise, Andrew and Juliane (Banks) Diana, Emily (Diana) and Ken Portu, and 14 great grandchildren. Anthony leaves his sister Anna Mary Fortunato and sister-in-law Rita Rinaldo and their families. He was predeceased by his son, Vincent L. Diana and brothers-in-law Louis Fortunato and Louis Rinaldo II. Anthony’s family would like to extend their sincere gratitude and appreciation to the nurses, doctors and entire staff at Hartford Hospital for their professionalism, care, compassion, and love shown to Anthony and his entire family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday March 1st at 10 a.m. in the Church of The Incarnation, 544 Prospect St., Wethersfield. Everyone is invited to gather directly at church. Burial will follow at Mount St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. The family will receive relatives and friends on Monday from 4-7 p.m. at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield.
