Arthur O. Perretta, 85, of Windham, died Friday (April 15, 2011) at St. Joseph's Living Center, Windham. Born in Hartford, he was the son of Tomasso and Giustina (Grasso) Perretta and lived in Storrs for many years prior to moving to Windham. Arthur was a successful musician (drummer) and toured with stars the likes of Rosemary Clooney, Barbara Streisand and the Tony Pastor Big Band. He also played with various symphony orchestras. He was a veteran of the World WarII serving in the U.S.Navy. Arthur is survived by his nieces and nephews; James Perretta, John Perretta, Michael Perretta, Charlotte Anne Perretta and Tina (Perretta) Bettera. He was predeceased by two brothers; Michael and Armando Perretta and two sisters; Antoinette (Perretta) Gill and Mary Perretta. Funeral services and burial will be private.
