Barbara Susan Verzi (Venora)

Barbara Susan (Venora) Verzi, 62, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on July 23, 2011. Barbara was born in Hartford, the daughter of Joan (Ierna) and the late Joseph William Venora. She worked as a buyer for the Arthur Drug Store chain and later co-owned and operated the Forest Inn in Pennsylvania. Barbara had a passion for cooking, sports, animals, and spending time with her family. Barbara is survived by her mother, Joan Venora of Newington; her brother, William Venora and his wife Barbara of Tolland; her special niece and nephew, Elizabeth and Joseph Venora of Tolland; and many loving and caring aunts, uncles and cousins. Besides her father, she was predeceased by her brother, Robert John Venora.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 11 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, 626 Willard Ave. Newington. The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday morning from 9:30-11 a.m. at the church. Burial is private at the convenience of the family.
