Benjamin Malavé, 67, of Wethersfield passed away peacefully Thursday (January 7, 2016) at Hartford Hospital with his family by his bedside. He was born in Santa Isabel, Puerto Rico on March 17, 1948. He was the son of the late Juan & Felicita Malavé. He was predeceased by his love, Jacqueline (Jackie) Caplinger. His passion was the Pittsburgh Steelers and New York Mets. He had a thirst for knowledge and enjoyed sharing what he learned with others. He has touched many lives. He had a light that drew people in whether it was his joking manner or when times were bad his calming manner. He truly made everyone feel that they were the one that mattered above all else. He was a selfless man that gave to anyone in need and just wanted to find the good in people even when others didn’t. He loved life and to laugh and to not be petty. He always thought it was better to encourage people and lift them up rather than to kick them whey they were down. He found value in all life, even simple things had a meaning like saving a bee trapped in the back porch or baby squirrels that fell out of the tree. We love you dad and thank you for teaching us the same. Your legacy lives on in more than your children but in all the people you impacted. He was a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle and cousin. He will be dearly missed by his children. Daughter, Lisette Malavé (Thomas Fitzpatrick) of Cromwell. Daughter, Dawn M. Malavé (Dale Turcotte) of Wethersfield and his son, Benjamin Malavé Jr (Vicmarie Feliciano) of Newington. His stepson Fred Hollis and stepdaughter Kimberly Caplinger Mcaninch.
