

Benjamin Erick “Benji” Morales, 19, of Meriden loving son, grandson, nephew, cousin, and dear friend to many, passed away Saturday, November 4, 2023. Benji was born in Providence, Rhode Island, July 7, 2004, son to Kristina Rodriguez. Raised in Meriden, he graduated from Wilcox Technical High School, Class of 2022 and was the Class Vice President. Being a driven individual, and strived to improve himself, Benji was attending Gateway Community College, studying business. During his freshman year, Benji earned the distinction of making the Dean’s List. In addition to attending school, he was employed by Apple ReHab.
Benji had a zest for life. He had many passions, which include, listening and singing along to music, especially in the shower, dancing, playing on his Xbox and having a good time. He was an avid writer of poetry and short stories. Benji was a huge fan of cartoons, his favorite being the hugely popular anime, Demon Slayer and Soul Eater. He shared a special bond with his mother, in martial arts, kickboxing in particular, where their code names were Tanjiro (Benji) and Nezuko (Kristina).
Along with his mother Kristina, Benji will be deeply missed and forever remembered by his loving family. His great grandmother Maria Burgos; grandparents, Miriam and José Rodriguez; aunts and uncles, Jessica Rodriguez, Matthew Rodriguez, and Nathan Bava; great aunts, Dori Rolle, Indiana Sirotnak, Michael Roczynski and Anna Ramos; cousins, Thomas Riviera, Zachary Brewster, Jasmine, Janelly, and Devin Rolle; as well as many close and dear friends.
