

Bernice (Laferriere) Roy, 90, of Wethersfield, beloved wife of the late Aurel Roy, passed away peacefully on Wednesday (October 29, 2014) at Maple View Manor in Rocky Hill. Born in Eagle Lake, ME on April 29, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Landor and Edith (Soucier) Laferriere. A loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she will be dearly missed by her devoted children, Linda DiBerardino and her husband Donald and Ronney Roy and his wife Phylis; two adored grandsons, Scott DiBerardino and David Roy and two cherished great-grandchildren, Dylan and Sophia. She is also survived by her siblings, Mildred Perreault, Patsy Simon, Norman Laferriere and Gilbert Shaw, as well as many nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her beloved grandson, Matthew Roy; three sisters, Rhona Bouchard, Madeline Masters and Maxine Duprey and two brothers, Hubert Shaw and Gilman Shaw. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Church of the Incarnation, 544 Prospect St., Wethersfield. Burial will follow in Village Cemetery, Wethersfield. The family will receive relatives and friends prior to the Mass, from 8:30-9:30 a.m., at the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield.
