Bruce Alexander

Bruce Alexander, 72, of Rocky Hill, beloved life partner of Anne Alden, passed away peacefully on September 9, 2026. Born in Japan on September 2, 1954, Bruce was the son of the late Phillip and Jessie (Easlick) Alexander. As the oldest of five children, Bruce looked out for his younger siblings and made sure they were safe. Throughout his childhood years, many happy memories were made with the Alexanders and their New Jersey cousins, the Regns. The Alexanders lived in many East Coast locations, and Connecticut was Bruce’s favorite.

After graduating high school, Bruce put down roots in Rocky Hill, Connecticut, where he built his home and worked hard to provide a good life for himself and his children. He spent many years as a project manager for various IT storage companies, taking pride in his work. He was a proud member of the Elks and on the Board of Directors of the Mt. Laurel Ski Club, where he forged lasting friendships and shared countless adventures.

To know Bruce was to know a man who could fix anything. Determined and steady, once he set his mind to something, there was no stopping him. He was always working on multiple projects requiring plumbing, mechanical and electrical expertise. He prided himself on doing his own repairs and home projects, but what he treasured most was that his son had grown up beside him, learning the same, hands in the same toolbox, working toward the same quiet satisfaction. He was always there to help his daughter navigate her family’s medical appointments and took great pride in being her support.

At his core, he was straightforward and genuine, and a man who loved his family deeply. The outdoors called to him, and he was a passionate downhill skier his whole life. He was overjoyed when recently his grandchildren took to the slopes beside him. He also cherished hiking, jet skiing, biking, kayaking and long rides on his Harley. Off the trails, he delighted in birthday celebrations, family gatherings and Alexander taco night. Bruce treasured the life he and Anne built together as partners in both life and adventure, sharing countless wonderful trips and cherished memories.

His grandchildren were his heart. He adored them completely, and made sure each one knew it, setting aside special one-on-one time with every grandchild, and creating memories that they will treasure forever.

In addition to his partner Anne, Bruce is survived by his children, Phillip Alexander and his wife Elena, and Melissa Alexander and her husband Henry, all of Glastonbury. He leaves behind his six best friends and greatest joys, his grandchildren Jordan, Nicholas, John, Giuliana, Lincoln, and Noah. He is also survived by his brother Blaze and sisters Heather and Heidi; by Anne's children Tiffany, Christine and her husband Billy, and Jeffrey; and by Anne's grandchildren Rebecca, Jackson, Camille, Jenna, and Oliver, who loved him dearly and also called him Pop-Pop. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Tina Rae. Bruce leaves behind a large extended family including cousins, nieces, nephews, and close friends

Calling hours will be held on Friday, September 18, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Boulevard, Wethersfield. Funeral services will follow starting at 12:00 noon at First Church of Christ, 250 Main Street, Wethersfield. Burial will be private.
