Bruce Conrad Kramer, Sr., of Wethersfield and formerly Hartford, beloved husband for 46 years of Mary Lou (Casale) Kramer, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Thursday, February 2, 2023. Born in Hartford on July 5, 1944, he was the son of the late Frank and Phyllis (Hube) Kramer and had lived in the area all his life. Bruce worked for The Metropolitan District for many years, before starting with CT Transit, retiring after 32 years of dedicated service. He was a member of the Free Masons and Shriners, and delighted in playing Santa for children whenever asked. Bruce was an avid fisherman who enjoyed boating, music, cooking and spending numerous hours at the Wethersfield Cove. He was the life of every party, an eternal jokester, and lived to make others laugh. Bruce’s talents were many, he was an all-around handyman who took solace in tinkering in his garage, and could fix or build anything by request. Thanksgiving was his favorite holiday, but he cherished any time spent with his family. Funny and generous to a fault, Bruce was personable, dependable, creative, friendly and larger than life. His passing leaves a great void in the lives of all he touched.
An adoring and devoted husband, father and grandfather, Bruce will be forever missed by his loving wife Mary Lou; two daughters, Krystina Kramer and her son William and Michelle Miclette, husband Robert Miclette, Jr. and their children Harper and Brayden; two sons, Bruce C. Kramer, Jr. and Christopher Kramer, and grandchildren Mason, Dane, Molli, Matthew, Jr. and Amanda. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Joanne “Okie” Botelho and husband José, his favorite niece, Bianca Santos and husband Bruno and his sister, Valarie Karp. Bruce was sadly predeceased by his beloved son, Matthew Kramer, Sr.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, February 8th at 10 a.m. at Holy Trinity Church, 53 Capitol Avenue, Hartford. Attendees are asked to please go directly to the church. Burial will follow in Village Cemetery (Hart Extension), Marsh St., Wethersfield.
