
Carmelo Anthony Bazzano, 86, of Wethersfield, beloved husband of the late Tina (Tartaglia) Bazzano, passed away on Sunday, (April 22, 2012.) Born on January 12, 1926 in Hartford, he was the son of the late Salvatore and Mary (Granato) Bazzano. Carmelo served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was the co-owner and operator of the S. Bazzano & Sons Grocery Store in Hartford. He was a member of Unico, the Elks Lodge #2308, the Moose Lodge #723 and the VFW Post #14000. He is survived by his loving daughters and their husbands: Linda and James Cultrera of Newington, Susan and Paul Paquette of Wallingford, and Marianne and Steven Flynn of Atwater, CA; his eight beloved grandchildren: Jeffrey Cultrera and his wife, Idalina of Newington, Karen Cultrera of Newington, Jay Paquette of Boston, MA Craig Paquette of Wilmington, DE, Jennifer Flynn of Arcada, CA, Rachel McGovran and her husband Matt of Woodlake, CA, Steven Flynn, Jr. of Merced, CA and Daniel Flynn of Atwater, CA; and five great-grandchildren. Carmelo is also survived by his brothers Vincenzo Bazzano and his wife Rosalie of Wethersfield and Salvatore Bazzano and his wife Virginia of Bradenton, FL.
Funeral Services will leave Friday, April 27 at 9:15 a.m. from the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield for a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in the Church of the Incarnation, 544 Prospect St., Wethersfield. Burial with military honors will follow in Rose Hill Memorial Park, Rocky Hill. Calling hours will be Thursday from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral chapel.
