Carolina Buonacquisto

Carolina (Ricci) Buonacquisto, 89, of Hartford, beloved wife of the late Pietro Buonacquisto, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, with her family by her side. Carolina was born on October 20, 1936, in Fontechiari, province of Frasinone, Italy. She was the daughter of the late Paolo and Cristina Ricci.

Carolina worked for many years at Ellis Manor as a housekeeper; she was a kind presence and well loved by the staff and residents. Carolina devoted her life to taking care of her family and she was happiest when they were all together.

She will be forever missed by her son, Mario Buonacquisto; two adored grandsons, Christopher Buonacquisto (Shelley) and Steven Buonacquisto and two cherished great-granddaughters, Charlotte and Alexandra. In addition to her parents, Carolina was sadly predeceased by her beloved son, Alessio “Alex” Buonacquisto.

Funeral services will begin at 9 a.m. on Friday, January 23, from the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Boulevard, Wethersfield followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Augustine Church, 10 Campfield Avenue, Hartford. Entombment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, New Britian. The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, January 22 from 4-6 p.m. at the funeral chapel.
