Concezio Mancini, 78, of Wethersfield, loving husband for 59 years to Vera (Ramunno) Mancini, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 21, 2015 surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Pacentro, Italy on July 12, 1936, a son to the late Salvatore and Virginia (Lalama) Mancini. With limited education, he traveled to Venezuela at 12 years old with his father looking for work and a better life. After the passing of both his father and mother at 13 years old, Concezio traveled to the United States to live with extended family. After a short time in Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada, he was married on February 11, 1956 to Vera. They then settled in Hartford in November of 1957, and eventually Wethersfield in the summer of 1964, where he has lived since. Concezio had many different jobs in his life, sometimes working two jobs at a time to support his family. He was a hard worker and laborer, and found a good job working many years for a construction company. This was a special time for him, working beside family members and special friends until he retired at the age of 65 years old. His passion was his family, who he was totally devoted to and ensured that they would be successful; even his extended family, always offering a helping hand in their time of need. He also enjoyed his garden where the best garlic, tomatoes and figs would grow, and many would enjoy them. Most of all, Concezio's favorite times were with his family around the table, enjoying a typical exuberant, Italian meal. Many words of wisdom were passed to his children during those times, one they heard many times- ""as long as you stick together."" He will be dearly missed by all his family and friends. Concezio is survived by his beloved and caring wife Vera; four sons, Salvatore and his wife Marie, Nick, Paul and his wife Anastasia, and Marco and his wife Elizabeth; four grandchildren, Concezio Joseph, Stephanie Marie, Carolina Elizabeth and Lorenzo Salvatore; a sister, Filomena (Mancini) Colangelo of Wethersfield; a brother, Joseph Mancini and his wife Rose Marie of Aliquippa, PA; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Besides his parents, Concezio was predeceased by his uncle, Attilio Lalama and wife Angelina and brother-in law, Frank Colangelo. Funeral service will be Thursday, June 25, at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery Mausoleum, One Cottage Grove Road, Bloomfield with entombment will follow. There are no calling hours, however, the family may be greeted after the service. Donation in Concezio's memory may be made to World-Wide Lighthouse Missions, 1007 Main St., Manchester, CT 06040. Funeral arrangements by the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, Wethersfield.
