

Born in Pereira, Colombia on May 7, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Abel and Clarisa (Velasquez) Betancourt. Consuelo loved to spend time in the presence of her family. She had a great sense of humor and a quick wit. She loved her Knick-Knacks and little antiques and the color purple which filled her home.
She will always be loved and remembered by her husband of 45 years Manuel; her five daughters, Yolanda, Esther and Alice Bermudez, all of Hartford, Tracy Young and her husband Chris of Las Vegas, Nevada and Julia Ann Bermudez of Casselbury, Florida; a brother, Gustave Betancourt of Mobile, Alabama; a sister, Amparo Vazquez of Mobile, Alabama; eleven grandchildren, Natasha Clarisa, Bobby V., Bobby, Jr., Joshua, Leticia, Melissa, Maria, Jacob, Brittany, Kaitlyn and Omayra; eighteen great grandchildren, Matthew, Michael, Claryssa, Tre, AJ, Saniyalyce, Caiden, Ezekiel, Tiadora, Joshua, Jr., Jude, Juel, Tanqueray, Sirobert, Sandhee, Brandon, Nancy and Leeyah and a great great granddaughter, Athena. She also leaves many nieces and nephews, including Norma Vazquez, who was especially dear to her. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Carlos Betancourt.
The family will receive relatives and friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday (March 22nd) at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield. A prayer service will take place at 7 p.m. in the funeral chapel at the conclusion of visiting hours on Wednesday evening. Everyone is invited to meet at D’Esopo Funeral Chapel at 10 a.m. on Thursday (March 23rd) to process to Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield for an 11 a.m. graveside prayer service.
