Cora Mozzicato

Cora (Failla) Mozzicato, 86, widow of Antonino Mozzicato, of Rocky Hill, passed away on Thursday, August 1, 2024, surrounded by family. Cora was born in Temuco, Chile and was the daughter to the late Rosario and Albertina (Padilla) Failla. In her earlier years, Cora had worked at the "Mi Casa" Foundation in Chile until 1987, and in that same year, she then met her husband, Antonino, in March - moving to the United States to start their new lives together, marrying on September 25th.

Cora had a passion for shopping at the mall - visiting her favorite - California Pizza Kitchen, getting sweet treats and going out for breakfast with friends and family. She was a gentle soul, with a subtle sense of humor. She will be remembered for her love of family - she especially took pride being an 'Aunt' to all, including her family in Chile. Over the past decade she enjoyed her outings with Gaetano and Tina Indomenico.

Cora had a special connection with Salvatore and Elizabeth - their visits with her created a special bond, she cared for them as her grandchildren.

She is survived and will be dearly missed by her devoted family; her brothers, Atilio and his wife Laura Failla and Jose Failla, her sister; Gloria Failla and her many nieces and nephews in Chile.

She was also predeceased by; a sister, Mafalda Failla, Yolanda Failla, sister in law, Gabriela, and brother in law, German.

The family would also like to extend their deepest gratitude to her niece, Mafalda, who would visit special from Chile, and special family member, Concetta Buscema, for all of their help and compassionate care provided to Cora over the years, during her illness.

The family invites relatives and friends for a time of visitation on Wednesday, August 7, 2024 from 8:30 a.m.-10:30 a.m. at the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield. Her Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 a.m. in St. Josephine Bakhita Parish - St. James Church Campus, 767 Elm St., Rocky Hill. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Memorial Park, Rocky Hill.
