

Daniel R. Carson, 82, of Rocky Hill, loving husband of Lucy (Lucca) Carson for 58 years, died Tuesday (November 20, 2007). He was born May 6, 1925 in Hartford and was the son of the late Nicholas and Lucy (Pallotti) Carson. He was a Word War II, U.S. Marine Corps veteran. Mr. Carson owned and operated Dan's Auto Body in East Hartford for over 30 years retiring in 1990. He was a member of the Berlin Italian Political Club and a longtime faithful communicant of St. James Church, Rocky Hill. He enjoyed playing the game of Bocce with his friends and was an avid Red Sox fan and New York Giants fan. He will be sadly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Besides his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Lisa M. Carson of Rocky Hill; his brother, Anthony Carson of Berlin; sisters-in-law, Marie Carson of Enfield and Josephine Grasso of Windsor as well as many nephews and nieces, among them a very special niece, Jacqueline Willametz. He was predeceased by a brother, William Carson and a sister-in-law, Gloria Carson. A very special thank you to the staff at Jefferson House, Newington for the care and compassion shown to Dan and his family. Also a very special thank you to two devoted friends, who were there for Dan during his illness, Georgianne DePasquale and Robert Pugliese. Funeral service will be Saturday at 8:45 a.m. from the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. at St. James Church, Rocky Hill. The burial will be in Rose Hill Memorial Park, Rocky Hill with full Military Honors. Calling hours are Friday from 3-7 p.m. at the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel.
