Daniel Ortega Falcon

Born in Ayacucho, Perú on January 3, 1934, he was the son of the late Pablo and Paulina (Falcon) Ortega. Daniel and Roberta met in Surquillo, Lima-Perú in 1953 when they were young teenagers. Daniel would always stand by the doorway of his uncle, Alfonso's home. Back then Roberta would love to run up to the roof of her brother Javier’s house and throw pebbles at him. When she would go out to run errands, he would walk beside her, she in the street and he on the sidewalk. He would ask her, “Why do you always walk on the street?” she would respond “oh are you afraid?” and he would say “I don’t want you to get hurt, I would never hurt you.” And, little by little, they passed 5 years, becoming friends, dating and falling in love. Then came the big day, when Don Pablo Ortega (Daniel's Father) asked Roberta’s brother, Javier Flores, for his sister's hand to marry Daniel Ortega. They joined in civil union on October 30, 1958 and after 10 years they celebrated with a church ceremony. That started their beautiful life together. Daniel began growing his family, eventually in 1983 his work in carpentry is what brought his family to Hartford, CT. His carpentry work was magnificent and people would ask him to build beautiful pieces. He was determined to learned English at “Caminemos Ingles” and years later he got his citizenship. Daniel enjoyed watching sports like soccer, and WWE, he liked to cook especially his “canchita” (peruvian toasted corn). Daniel loved his home country Peru, he spoke quechua and would travel there as much as possible. Daniel was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. His morals kept him strong and when others needed him most, he was always there to calm the storm. Everyone enjoyed his quick and witty humor, his big heart, always softhearted and kind, humble, and hardworking. After 62 years together with Roberta, God called Daniel to his home and changed their destinies. He will be missed, We Love You Always. He was preceded in death by his father, Pablo, mother, Paulina, half-sister, Rosario Caneles. Daniel is survived by his wife Roberta, daughter, Diana Linares and her husband Jose of Hartford, Martha Sanchez and her husband Jeffrey of Totowa, New Jersey and Paola Rosado and her husband Miguel of Ponciana, Florida as well as seven grandchildren, Daniel Vera, Christopher Daniel Curi, Daniel Mays, Dyanella Linares, Katlyn Sanchez, Roberta Linares and Jackeline Rosado and one great grandchild, Almendra Vera. He also leaves a brother, Claudio Ortega and his wife Socorro of Port St. Lucy, Florida and a sister Victoria Ortega of Manchester, .

The family will receive relatives and friends from 4-6 p.m. on Friday, February 5, 2021 at D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield, CT 06109. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Saturday, February 6, 2021 at St. Augustine Church, 10 Campfield Ave., Hartford, CT 06114. Nació en el Departamento Ayacucho, Provincia de Parinacochas, PERÚ, el 3 de Enero de 1934, sus padres fueron Pablo Ortega y Paulina Falcon.

Daniel y Roberta se conocieron en Surquillo, Lima-Perú, en el año de 1953 cuando ella tenía 14 años. Él siempre estaba parado en la puerta de la casa de su tío Alfonso y a ella le gustaba subir al techo de la casa de su hermano Javier, y tirarle piedritas cuando lo veía. Cuando ella salía hacer diligencias (compras) Él la seguía, pero Roberta caminaba por la pista y Daniel por la vereda, entonces Él le preguntaba porque camina por la pista? Y ella le respondía que tenía temor, y Él le respondía que no iba a lastimarla; y así poco a poco pasaron 5 años, siendo amigos, luego siendo enamorados y novios.

Entonces llegó el gran día dónde Don Pablo Ortega pidió la mano de Roberta a su hermano Javier Flores y se casaron el 30 de Octubre de 1958 por Civil y después de 10 años se casaron por Religioso.

Así empezó nuestras vidas juntos en común. Daniel trabajaba como carpintero, fue así que iniciamos otra travesía viajando hacia los Estados Unidos, allí empezamos a trabajar, Daniel destacó por su excelencia como carpintero, siendo reconocido por todos sus clientes, paralelamente asistíamos a clases de inglés en una escuela llamada “CAMINENOS”, años más tarde obtuvimos la Ciudadanía. Hablaba 3 Idiomas El Castellano, El Inglés y El Quechua, el idioma de los Incas. Daniel gozaba ver el Fútbol, deporte que el mismo practicó en alguna Liga de Perú; también le gustaba cocinar su canchita (maíz tostado peruano). Daniel fue buen esposo, quería a sus hijas un montón y adoraba a sus nietos, tenía una chispa y sentido del humor peculiares. Jamás olvidaré su temple y su calma para resolver las cosas, pero el destino nos separó después de 62 años juntos, Dios lo llamó a su casa y se lo llevó, solo para encontrarse con su padre Pablo su madre Paulina y su media hermana Rosario Canales.

Daniel y Roberta tuvieron 3 Hijas, la mayor Diana Linares y su esposo José que viven en Hartford, Connecticut, la segunda es Martha Sanchez y su esposo Jeffrey que viven en Totowa, New Jersey y la tercera Paola Rosado y su esposo Miguel que viven en Ponciana, Florida.

Daniel tuvo siete nietos, Daniel Vera, Christopher Daniel Curi, Daniel Mays, Dyanella Linares, Katlyn Sanchez, Roberta Linares and Jackeline Rosado y una bis-nieta Almendra Vera.

Él además deja un hermano, Claudio Ortega y su esposa Socorro, que viven en Port St. Lucie, Florida y una Hermana Victoria Ortega que vive en Manchester, Connecticut.

La familia recibirá familiares y amigos el día Viernes 5 de Febrero de 2021 desde las 4 pm hasta las 6 pm en la Funeraria D’ESOPO, ubicado en la 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield, CT, 06109.

Una misa Religiosa a celebrarse desde las 10 am el día Sabado, 6 de Febrero del 2021 en la Iglesia San Augustine, ubicada en la 10 de la Campfield Av., Hartford, CT, 06114.
