Deborah Jean Martin

Deborah 'Debbie' Jean Martin, 56, of Rocky Hill, peacefully passed away on Tuesday (March 30, 2010) at her home. Born in Manchester on August 7, 1953, a daughter of the late George Andrew and Almeda (Banville) Martin, she had resided in Rocky Hill for the past seventeen years. Debbie enjoyed drinking coffee, collecting and playing with pennies, and playing cards. Besides her parents, Debbie was predeceased by a sister, Geraldine Martin of Phoenix, AZ. Debbie is survived by her caring sister and legal guardian, Phyllis M. Pinto and her husband, Theodore, of Glastonbury; a nephew, Theodore Pinto, Jr. of Middletown; and a niece, Julia Pinto of Rocky Hill both who shared their life with her; several dear friends at her Group Home; and a sister, Lois Ann Sponaugle of Berlin. Private funeral services and burial will be held at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. Debbie's family would like to extend their sincere gratitude and appreciation to the Group Home 1069 of residents and staff members where she had resided. They were her 'family' who made Debbie's life enjoyable through their professionalism, care, love and compassion.
