Born in New Britain, Don was the son of the late Dominick and Delia (Proulx) Sataline. A proud graduate of New Britain High School, Class of 1963, he went on to serve his country honorably in the United States Army in the Vietnam War.
A true pioneer in natural and healthy living, Don and his wife turned their passion into a lifelong mission. Together they founded and operated It’s Only Natural Market in Middletown, a beloved local institution that has served the community for over 39 years. His dedication to clean eating, sustainability, and supporting local venders touched the lives of many and helped pave the way for the natural food industry in central Connecticut.
Don was a man of deep passions and strong convictions. A true cigar aficionado, he enjoyed nothing more than relaxing with a fine cigar and good conversation. He was also an avid horse racing fan, always up for a trip to the track or a long look at the daily racing odds. A lifelong supporter of the Boston Red Sox, Don followed his team through every season, win or lose, with loyalty and heart and loved a good trip up to Fenway to Cheer them on.
Above all, Don cherished his family. In addition to his devoted wife of 43 years, Ann Marie, he leaves behind his loving sons, David M. Sataline and his wife, Alison, and Christopher Sataline; as well as his adored grandchildren; Jada and Dominick, who brought him endless joy and pride. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends whose lives he touched in countless ways. Donald was also predeceased by his brother and sister-in-law: Raymond and Eleanor Sataline.
In keeping with Don’s wishes, a celebration of his life will be held at a later date. Please check back online for updates regarding service details.
