Doris (Theriault) Shaw, 93, of Hartford, beloved wife of the late Donald A. Shaw, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 25, 2020 at Avery Heights in Hartford. Born in Webster, MA on August 26, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Mabel (Devio) Theriault. Doris worked as a machinist at Hamilton Standard for many years. She was a former member and Master of Tunxis Grange #13 in Bloomfield, a lecturer for Farmington Valley Pomona Grange #11, a Deputy for the Connecticut State Grange, a life member of St. Francis Hospital’s Women’s Auxillary, a member of the Daughters of Isabella #280, Guild of St. Agnes Home and AARP. Doris was an excellent seamstress, a collector of thimbles, toothpick holders and hat pins.
Doris will be forever missed by her son, Joseph Shaw and wife Susan of Hartford. She is also survived by her nieces Patsy and Terry. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Francis Theriault, Jr. The family would like to thank the staff of Masonicare Home Health and Hospice and Avery Heights for their kindness and compassion.
Calling hours will be Friday (February 28) from 9-11 a.m. concluding with a Prayer Service at 11 a.m. at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Boulevard, Wethersfield.
