

Dorothy, lovingly known as ""Dot"" (Curtiss) Salemi, 80, departed this life peacefully on Friday, September 26, 2014 at St. Francis Hospital. She was born October 3, 1933 in Meriden, CT, daughter of the late Norman and Josephine Curtiss. She was a dedicated employee of Connecticut General Life Insurance Company (Cigna) for 37 years. Her career spanned from working in a steno pool, secretary of several senior officers, supervisor of CIGNA travel department before retiring in 2000 as executive administrative assistant at CIGNA Retirement & Investment Services. Dot was predeceased by her two brothers Robert and Edward Curtiss and her former husbands, Richard C. Warner and Sebastian J. Salemi. Dot is survived by her loving daughter Barbara Lynn Bajurny of Farmington, her sister Barbara Spellacy and her husband Michael of Meriden and her loving companion of the last ten years, Robert W. Morrissey. She also had a special place in her heart for the entire Morrissey family and her best friend, Frances B. Martyn. Dot was a faithful parishioner of Saint Patrick - Saint Anthony Church in Hartford, Connecticut. She enjoyed golf, bowling, and reading. In her retirement Dot traveled to many countries with her friends, France being her favorite. She was a kind and loving woman who consistently walked hand in hand with God. Funeral services are Wednesday (October 1st) at 9:30 am at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10:30 am at St. Patrick-St. Anthony Church, 285 Church St. Hartford. Burial will be at a later date at the convenience of the family. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday (September 30th) from 4-7pm.
