Eduardo A. Greca

Eduardo A. Greca, 67, of Rocky Hill, loving husband of Concetta 'Tina' (Romano) Greca for 39 years, died, Sunday (November 8, 2009) at Hartford Hospital. He was born Jan. 1, 1942 in Floridia, province of Siracusa, Sicily and was the son of the late Thomas and Concetta (Grillo) Greca. He attended local schools and was a Vietnam War veteran of the US Army. Eduardo owned and operated with his brothers, Greca Brothers Fashion Apparel, Franklin Avenue, Hartford. He was one of the original founders of the Hartford-Floridia Sister City Program and was the head of the Hartford Columbus Day Celebration for 25 years. He was very proud to have been instrumental in arranging the delegation of clergy to establish the Madonna delle Lacrime replica plaque that was placed in St. Luke's Church where he was a very active communicant for many years. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He will be sadly missed by his devoted family and many friends. Besides his wife, Tina, he is survived by his children, Eduardo Greca and Kimberly Larsson of Wethersfield, Sabrina Klin and husband, Robert Klin of Newington and Massimo Greca of Rocky Hill; grandchildren, Mara, Lukas and Nikolas Klin and Jessica Larsson; brothers, Lucien Greca, Luigi 'Gino' Greca and Joseph Greca; sisters, Maria Ambrogio, Lucy Rizza and Grace Aliano, brothers-in-law, Enzo and Salvatore Romano; and many nieces and nephews in the USA and Italy. He was predeceased by brothers-in-law, Carmelo and Lino Romano. Funeral service will be Thursday at 9 a.m. from the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. from St. Luke's Church, 66 Bolton Street, Hartford. The burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford with full military honors. Calling hours are Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral chapel.
