

Emanuele “Paolo” Marino, 82, of Wethersfield, devoted husband of Raffaela (D’Aquila) Marino, passed away peacefully on April 6th, 2025, with his family by his side. Paolo was born on February 3rd, 1943, in Canicattini Bagni, Sicily (Italy). He was the son of the late Vincenzo and Maria Concetta (Aia) Marino.
Paolo and Raffaela married April 8,1967, in Belvedere, Sicily (Italy), eventually moving to the U.S and ultimately making their home in Wethersfield. Paolo was a hard worker and he was in the construction industry for more than 50 years working as a skilled mason. He was a gentle man with a kind heart, devoted to his faith and always willing to help anyone who needed it. Paolo was especially dedicated to his family and as his family grew, his love for them grew even more. He loved celebrating holidays around the dinner table, enjoying family events, dancing the night away with his wife at Italian functions, or just chatting to see how your day was, those were moments that Paolo cherished. He was an avid fan of the soccer team Inter and he never missed a game. Paolo was also very fond of the Boston Red Soxs. He loved getting together with his family for Sunday lunches while having his Italian TV channel in the background, eating delicious cutlets made by his wife and sipping wine. Paolo enjoyed the outdoors, especially in his beloved garden.
In addition to his wife, Paolo will be sadly missed by his daughters, Paula Leonardi (Michele Leonardi) of Wethersfield, Sabrina Cohen (Jason Cohen) of Agawam, MA along with his cherished grandchildren, Michael Leonardi (Jaime Leonardi), Morgana Leonardi, his sister Enza Saladino (Charlie Saladino), his brother Giuseppe Marino (Enza Marino) , his sister-in law Pina and brother-in-law Nino D’Aquila, his nephew Marco D’Aquila with his wife Lucia and their children Stefania and Daniele of Belvedere, Sicily (Italy), along with his many nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, Paolo was predeceased by his siblings, Salvatore Marino, Santina Cassarino and Sebastiano Marino.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, April 14th, at 10:00 am at St. Augustine Church, 10 Campfield Avenue, Hartford, CT. Everyone is asked to meet directly at church. Burial to follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford CT. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Paolo’s name may be made to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, 1000 Asylum Avenue, Hartford, CT 06105.
