

Ernest S. Susanin, 74, of Vero Beach, Florida and Rocky Hill, beloved husband of Judith (Machaj) Susanin, passed away peacefully July 19, 2011 at home with his family by his side. He was born June 19, 1937 in Palmerton, PA, the son of the late Andrew and Anna (Babinchak) Susanin. Ernie received his B.A. Degree from LaSalle University in Philadelphia. Prior to his employment as an Executive Vice President at the Arthur J. Gallagher Risk Management Services, Inc., in Hartford, he was the owner of E. S. Susanin, Inc. Ernie was a member of the Wethersfield Country Club for 42 years where he served on the Board of Directors. He was also a member of the Indian River Country Club in Vero Beach, FL. He served on the Board of Directors of the Utility Contractors of Connecticut and also served on the Board of Directors of the National Association of Surety Bond Producers where he was the Regional Vice President. Ernie was a longtime faithful communicant of the Church of the Incarnation, Wethersfield. He will be dearly missed by his family and many friends in Connecticut and Florida. Including Judy, his wife of 43 years, he is survived by three sons Steven Susanin and his wife Maria of Wethersfield, David Susanin and wife Carol of Wethersfield, and Michael Susanin and his wife Laura of Northborough MA; five grandchildren Kate, Grace, Elle, Kevin and Patrick; five brothers Edward Susanin and his wife Janice of Des Moines, IA, Andre Susanin and his wife Catherine of Wynnewood, PA, John Susanin and his wife Natalie of Philadelphia, PA, Francis Susanin of Palmerton, PA and Roger Susanin and his wife Helene of Newtown Square, PA; a sister Marguerite Kelley and her husband William of Newtown Square, PA; three sisters-in-law Joyce DiRusso of Newmarket, NH, Jayne Fernholz and her husband Rick of Gilford, NH, and Janice Ouhrabka of Texas and many loving nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. He was predeceased by a sister and brother-in-law Elaine and Lawrence Looby and a sister-in-law Barbara Susanin.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday July 22nd at 11 a.m. at the Church of the Incarnation, 544 Prospect Street, Wethersfield (everyone is asked to go directly to the church). Burial will follow in Rose Hill Memorial Park, Rocky Hill. Calling hours are Thursday from 4-7 p.m. at the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield.
