Evelyn Ditunno

Evelyn DiTunno of Longmeadow, MA and formerly of Wethersfield, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 20, 2026. Born in Southbridge, MA on January 5, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Giovanni and Fannie (Colangelo) Confalone. She graduated from Mary E. Wells High School in 1955 and then became a flight attendant for American Airlines before marrying S. Joseph DiTunno in 1964. They were married for 55 years before his death in 2019. Evelyn loved being a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved attending sporting events, dance recitals and high school graduations of her grandchildren and always wanted to know about everything that was happening in their lives.

Evelyn will be forever missed by her daughter, Laura DiTunno Donovan and her husband Michael of Longmeadow, MA and son, Joseph DiTunno and his wife Diana of Southington. Evelyn adored her five grandchildren, Tyler DiTunno, Courtney Taylor and her husband Shane, Cailin McGuire and her husband Ryan, Madison Donovan and her fiancé Evan and Griffin Donovan, who called her “Nana”. She was also known as “Big Nana” to her three cherished great-grandchildren, Logan Sullivan, Hadleigh McGuire and Grayson McGuire. She is survived by her brother, Jay Confalone and wife Margaret of PA and many nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her granddaughter, Brianna Donovan.

Funeral services will be private. Donations in Evelyn’s memory may be made to The Alzheimer’s Association, 10 Executive Drive, Suite 202, Farmington, CT 06032. The D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, Wethersfield has been entrusted with the arrangements.
