

Filomena “Phyllis” (Ferzacca) Panazza, 100, of Rocky Hill and formerly of Glastonbury and Berlin, beloved wife of the late Armand J. Panazza for almost 70 years, passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side, on Friday, October 21, 2022. Born in Capestrano, province of L’Aquila, Italy on July 27, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Nicola and Elisa (DiGregorio) Ferzacca. Phyllis worked in the Hartford Tax Collector’s office for many years. She enjoyed reading, baking and loved playing cards.
A loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Phyllis will be forever missed by her five children, Kathleen Kaba and husband Michael, Patricia Zewinski and husband Don, Frank Panazza, Lisa Halligan and husband Barry and Eileen Ferrato and husband Skip; her four adored grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Lucia “Mim” Ferzacca and her brother-in-law, Raymond Machowski, as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. In addition to her husband and parents, Phyllis was predeceased by her granddaughter, Gina Cavallo, a brother, Nicola “Nic” Ferzacca; her sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Fred Corsi and her sister-in-law, Rose Machowski.
A time of visitation will be held Saturday, October 29 from 9-10:30 a.m. at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Boulevard, Wethersfield followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at the Church of the Incarnation, 544 Prospect Street, Wethersfield. Burial will follow in Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. Donations in Phyllis’ memory may be made to: St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
