Florence M. Diamond

Florence M. Diamond, 90, of Rocky Hill, died peacefully Friday, April 1, 2016. Born in Hartford on July 5, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Catherine (Bonadies) Diamond and lived in Wethersfield most of her life before moving to Rocky Hill. She was predeceased by her three brothers, Prospero, Nicholas and John Diamond. Florence was employed at Aetna Life & Casualty Insurance Company until her retirement and was one of the first female members of the Aetna 39ers. Florence loved to travel and was a member of the Friendship Force, traveling all over the world. She was an avid UCONN basketball fan and enjoyed watching both the men’s and women’s teams.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 10 a.m. at Corpus Christi Church, 601 Silas Deane Highway, Wethersfield. Everyone is asked to please go directly to the church. Burial will follow in Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. Donations in Florence’s memory may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
