Frances 'francesca' (lacava) Dammiller

Frances ?Francesca? (LaCava) Dammiller of Old Saybrook, passed away Monday November 5, 2007 after a brief illness. Born in Hartford she was the daughter of the late Pasquale and Carmela (Laraia) LaCava and lived in North Miami and Boynton Beach for most her life before moving to Connecticut ten years ago. Francesca was predeceased by her husband Richard to whom she was married 47 years. Both Francesca and Richard spent their entire careers in the transportation industry, Francesca in administration with the Seaboard Coastline Railway and Richard as an air traffic controller at Miami Airport. They had a wonderful life together. She was a graduate of Bulkeley High School in Hartford and the Anita Priest Interior Design Academy in Miami. Francesca had a flair for interior design and always made it a point to find enjoyment in each and every day. She was an active member of the Old Saybrook Historical Society, St. John?s Church in Old Saybrook and the Marian Center in Miami where she volunteered many hours of her time helping to plan events to benefit the developmentally handicapped and mentally retarded.   She is survived by her sisters; Rose Cancelmo, Eleanor D'Esopo, Mary Pandolfe, Antoinette Cicalese, and Anna Murasso, two brothers, Rocco V. LaCava and wife, Dolores, Dominick J. LaCava and wife, Annette, and his sister-in-law, Victoria (Gagliardi) LaCava, spouse of her late brother, Jerry LaCava, a brother-in-law, George Dammiller in Florida, several nieces and nephews in Connecticut, New York and Florida and numerous friends.   A memorial mass will be celebrated on Saturday December 1, 2007 at 9:30 a.m. in St. James Church, 787 Elm St. Rocky Hill with her nephew the Reverend Jeremiah Murasso officiating.
