Francesca (Farenga) Cerone

Francesca (Farenga) Cerone, 86, of West Hartford, loving wife of 44 years of the late Francesco Cerone, passed away on Monday (September 24, 2012) surrounded by her caring family. Born in Muro Lucano, province of Potenza, Italy on March 26, 1926, a daughter of the late Francesco and Maria (Scaringi) Farenga, she had been a resident of West Hartford since 1976. A devout Catholic, she was a faithful communicant of the Church of St. Brigid in West Hartford. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting (especially afghans), cooking for her family, and being a proud grandmother to her three grandsons and four great-grandsons. Mrs. Cerone is survived by her devoted children, son, Pietro ""Peter"" Cerone and his wife, Lori, of South Windsor, son, Jose ""Joe"" Cerone and Tracy of Newington, daughter, Nunziata ""Nancy"" Abbatemarco of West Hartford and a son-in-law, Donato Abbatemarco of West Hartford. She also leaves three special grandsons, Luciano Abbatemarco and his wife, Jennifer, of West Hartford, Danny Abbatemarco and his wife, Denise, of Berlin, Alexander Cerone and Aja Lessard of Plainville; four adored great-grandsons and a great-granddaughter, Noah, Max, Luc, Benjamin and Hailey; several nieces, nephews, and dear friends both here in America and in Italy.

Funeral services will be Saturday (September 29) at 10 a.m. from the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd, Wethersfield with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10:30 a.m. at the Church of St. Brigid, 1088 New Britain Avenue, West Hartford. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home chapel on Saturday morning from 9-10 a.m. Burial will take place in Italy.
