Born in Hartford, CT, he was the son of the late Gene and Elaine (Perry) DeRobertis. He served his country honorably in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Upon returning, he joined his father and grandfather in the family business of DeRobertis Jewelers in Hartford and West Hartford where he happily served his customers for over 60 years. Francis loved sharing his passion for diamonds. Nothing made Francis happier than seeing a DeRobertis engagement ring on someone’s finger. He was an avid Skier, Golfer and boater and a longtime member of UNICO.
Besides his wife Barbara, Francis is survived by his sons, Gene DeRobertis and his wife Rosemarie of Wethersfield and Ronald DeRobertis of Wethersfield. Sister and brothers in law Kenny and Judy Marzi and Anthony DeFronzo of New Britain. Francis also had two very special cousins, he is survived by Teresa Rittlinger of Glastonbury and was predeceased by George Agnelli, Sr. of East Hartford. He especially valued the friendship of Bill Rulon who worked tirelessly by his side for over twenty years and he thought of as family.
Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield.
