

Frank D. Carlino of Wethersfield, beloved husband of Mary (Daley) Carlino, passed away Thursday, (April 26, 2007) on his 75th birthday at St. Francis Hospital with his family by his side. Born in Hartford, son of Dominic and Rose Carlino, Frank graduated Hartford Public High School class of 1950 and attended New Britain Teachers College. He joined the Army serving as a sergeant in Korea during the Korean Conflict. Upon his return from Korea he served as the Scout Master of Boy Scout Troop 107 at the Immaculate Conception Church in Hartford. Frank served in this capacity for ten years. Frank was employed by the CT Department of Transportation ? District I Surveys in Rocky Hill for 40 years, retiring in 1992. Frank was a licensed land surveyor and his favorite years there were those serving as Party Chief in the field with ""his guys."" He enjoyed tying his own flies, flyfishing the Salmon and Blackledge Rivers, duck hunting and taking walks with Mary at the West Hartford Reservoir. In recent years, Frank received much enjoyment from books on tape graciously provided by the staff at the State of Connecticut Library for the Blind. Frank and Mary observed their 40th wedding anniversary on February 4th. Besides his wife Mary, Frank leaves his sons and daughters-in-law Mark and Katharine of Manchester and Michael and Karin of Glastonbury. Grampy leaves his precious granddaughters Amanda, Tamara and Lauren. He also leaves his sister-in-law Catherine Carlino of Hartford; brothers-in-law Richard Daley and his wife Eileen and Charles Daley and his wife Ellen; his god-son Stephen Grabeck and his wife Sharon of Wheaton, IL; his god-daughter Brenda Hall and her husband Jamie of Alpharetta, GA and a special cousin Maribeth Montillaro and her husband Jeffery of Simsbury. Frank also leaves his nieces and nephews: Margaret Lee, Jennifer Rivera, Daniel Daley, Thomas Daley and Heather Daley and many cousins. Frank was predeceased by his parents and brothers Richard and John. Frank's family extends their sincere thanks and gratitude to the doctors, nurses and staff of St. Francis Hospital for their care and compassion shown to Frank. Funeral services will be Monday, April 30 at 9 a.m. at D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd, Wethersfield followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at the Church of the Incarnation, Wethersfield. Burial will follow in Village Cemetery, Wethersfield. Friends may call Sunday from 3 - 7 p.m. at the funeral chapel.
