Frank Richard Petrone, 82, of Rocky Hill, beloved husband of Penny (Fuller) Petrone, passed away peacefully at his home on June 1, 2019 surrounded by his family. Frank was born on February 19, 1937 in Hartford and was the son of the late Nicholas John and Millie (Aloisi) Petrone. Frank owned and operated Petrone Plumbing and Heating until his retirement. He was an avid scuba diver who enjoyed traveling; he made many trips to the Caribbean with family in search of the perfect dive site. Additionally, he enjoyed his more recent wildlife expeditions to Botswana, Antarctica, and Churchill with his wife. He also loved the company of the family's many Bernese Mountain Dogs.
Frank will be dearly missed by his wife of forty years; his sons, Christopher Petrone and his wife Angel of Alexandria, VA; Nicholas Petrone and his wife Erika of San Jose, CA; Frank Petrone of Terryville; his daughter, Lisa Walsh and her husband Mark of West Hartford; five grandchildren: Dustin, Sean, and Matthew Walsh, and Garrett and Shantelle Petrone; a great-granddaughter, Juliana Petrone and his sister, Eleanor Kowzun. In addition to his “daughter” Kendra Cormier and “son” Michael Bartone, Frank also leaves numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A Celebration of Frank’s life will be held on Friday, June 7, at 11 a.m. at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield. Family and friends are welcome to come and pay their respects prior to the service from 10 – 11 a.m. Burial will be privately held at a later date.
