George Kevork Choolgian, 74, of Old Saybrook, passed away on April 24, 2017, at Aaron Manor in Chester after a period of declining health. George was born and raised in Hartford, where he was a graduate of Bulkeley High School. He attended Acadia University in Canada and The University of Bridgeport and was a graduate of Mitchell College. George had a career in the restaurant business and was proprietor of the New Wagon Wheel Restaurant in Clinton. He also obtained his real estate license. George enjoyed walking along Knollwood Beach and talking to people he met along the way. A religious man, George read the Bible daily and was proud of his Armenian heritage. George was predeceased by his beloved mother Anna and his father George. He is survived by his sister, Elizabeth Anna Choolgian, and by several cousins.
Funeral services will be private at the family’s convenience. Memorial donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
