Giovanni Augello

Giovanni Augello, 90, of Hartford, beloved husband of the late Maria (Giusto) Augello, passed away suddenly on December 9, 2014 surrounded by his family. Born on April 20, 1924 in Caltabellotta, Sicily, he was the son of the late Michele and Pellegrina Augello. Giovanni proudly served in the Italian Army during WWII. Giovanni retired from the Keeney Manufacturing Company where he worked for many years. Giovanni took pride working in his gardens, especially his beautiful rose and flower gardens. A beloved father and grandfather he will be missed by his family, especially by his son with whom he had dinner with every night. Giovanni leaves his son Michele Augello and his wife Luisa of Hartford and his daughter Penny Durante and her husband Joseph of Berlin. He will also be dearly missed by his five grandchildren Stephanie, Anthony, Gabriella, Elisabeth and John-Michael along with his sister Pellegrina Modica and his many friends. In addition to his beloved wife Maria and his parents, Giovanni was predeceased by his brothers Vincenzo Augello and Accursio Augello and his sister Paola Truncali. Funeral services will begin on Friday at 9 a.m. from the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Boulevard, Wethersfield followed by a mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Luke's Church, 66 Bolton Street, Hartford. Entombment will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford. Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral chapel. Memorial donations in Giovanni's name can be made out to your
